$6.00 and S&H- 1/2" X 5/8" pin with two clutch backs. Only 34 of these remain in the world. Offered to LIB Base members for one month before it goes national to clear them out. They won't last long.
$7.50 to Ron Martini--1723 Desmet Ave--Sheridan, WY--82801

I am happy to say I have one of the first one of these by LIB members. My pal Tim gave me one and one of my cousin's boat that I let Tim ride on. LOL It is a neat pin and even though I never got to make a patrol on a boomer ( got off the Calhoun to go to the Scorpion before the first patrol) I still wear it anyway. They are well worth the price. Thanks to Tim for making these available for us.

OK Ron, I'm sold.
I haven't made a boomer patrol, but I'll take this as a collector's item, it does look pretty good.

If I can get out from under the snow, I'll drop you a check for the book [Elephant Shop] and 1 of these pins.

I'd try to do it today, but we'vbe already got about 8" of snow out there and it's being recommended that you only go out if absolutely necessary.
I'll write the check to you [Not USSVI] for $22.00 and address it to the one you gave on the other thread.

Now then, if you really want to earn that pin, you should have made a patrol on a Regulus smokeboat.

Ron, I went to sea on one and figure that going to sea three or four times  with yardbirds aboard who weren't too sure our number of ups would equal the number of downs, ought to qualify for one of these. LOL It was certainly as scary as making a real patrol. I can put it next to the one for my cousin's boat.

Send me one please.

Bill

SO we recognize our brothers of the 'phin that rode boomers and did a great job. Good on you Ron!
Do I remember a caustic debate a couple years ago when you suggested a pin for Fast Boat Sailors and got shouted down by the brethren in that you were creating a rift among us all by such a flagrant bias?
:P''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
SO the DBF guys have a pin -- the boomers have their "Hide with Pride" pin and this new special pin, yet when you proposed recognizing the Fast Attack guys that did the dirty work, you got slammed!
Sheesh.... what a load of crap!

Bob: I was stationed in Pearl ( on a tin can ) 1960 thru 1963 and was amazed the damage on some of the Regulas boats we would see returning to port. Those guys obviously took a hell of a beating out there in the "Pac"

Those of us in the SSN community got our pins. Navy Achievement, Navy Commendation, Meritious Service, Navy unit citations etc. that was always enough recognition. We couldn't talk or brag about our ops anyway except among ourselves. You remember the old motto: Underway Sure as Shit, Saturday Sunday & Nights. and One Screw, One Crew!

Ron, I know it's a bit "late", but are there more of these pins available??? I'd like to get one for John Garry, as he was on the Georgefish.
